Hi everyone. Thank you for visiting my blog. You may ask, what is the purpose of Wise Dog Blog? Wise Dog Blog is a way for me to write about subjects that are important to me personally. A place where I can write freely and share my thoughts, opinions, research, and personal views and experiences in hopes that maybe someone will get something out of the information given. A place where I hope both dogs and humans will benefit.
Research before bringing home any family member such as a dog is very important. Many people research their next home appliance more than their new family member for the next 10-15 years and I hope more people start to think and research before they impulse buy a dog. Knowledge is an key to making the right match with dog and owner and I hope Wise Dog Blog can help give some tools to aid in making the a sound decision. Or at the very least help others be armed and exposed with more information in addition to their own to get them thinking more about dogs and dog subjects from other points of view.
Education is so important now more than ever to finding that right dog and subsequently the right breeder, or the right rescue, and also important is helping your dog stay mentally and physically healthy for many years to come. A wide range of topics about dogs will be brought up, such as finding the right breeder (the difference between a backyard breeder, responsible -sometimes known as reputable breeder, and puppy mills.)
I will talk about the reasons not to look in the paper for your dog, and the reasons behind why not to go to a pet store to purchase a dog. I will talk about how to stay safe and signs and red flags to look for and avoid when you are searching for a dog on the Internet. I will talk about why you should go with a better breed, a responsible breeder, how to find them, what is in for you, what is in it for the breeder, what is in it for your family, your dog, your dog's litter mates and parents, your dog's breed, and ultimately for all dogs everywhere in society.
While not a vet, I would like to discuss some thing from an owner point of view such as dog's vet care, finding the right vet, knowing what shots to give and what shots not to give, heartworm preventative, bloat, time to spay or neuter, finding and feeding the right dog food, and other important issues. Dog training ideas and tips will be discussed, as well as where to find the best training classes for your money and how to locate these facilities and trainers. Raising a puppy the right way from day one will be talked about in depth, with topics such as socialization, redirection, training, bonding, crate training, and like subjects. The same topics will be talked about for bringing a new rescue dog into your life. Answers to questions like what supplements if any to feed to your dog at any age, should you breed your dog, showing your dog, and what is a dog park and would it be a good place for your dog. Dog breeds will be featured. Dog books will be featured and reviewed. And all of that is just for starters, I will also answer questions occasionally to the best of my ability.
In closing, Wise Dog Blog has high hopes to really make a difference and at least expose people to new concepts and ideas. I really do hope to use all my words to make a positive difference in dogs lives and and the humans who live with them.
